REDWOOD Metropolis, CA — Oakland-dependent artist Rachel Wolfe-Goldsmith was decided on to create a racial equity mural in Redwood City. The mural will be made to represent racial equity and social justice to be put downtown on the Jefferson underpass.
The Redwood Town council voted unanimously Monday to approve Wolfe-Goldsmith for the task. She was among two finalists introduced final month.
The mural project was released in 2020 following the racial justice protests, with the city allocating $100,000 toward it. The mural will investigate Redwood City’s dedication to racial equity and social justice issues.
Wolfe-Goldsmith’s style and design focuses on “a non-linear timeline the place stories weave in and out of each individual other.”
